POCO has officially confirmed the launch of a new M-series smartphone in India. The upcoming POCO M8 5G is set to debut next week, and ahead of the announcement, the company has shared early details through teaser posters and a press release, revealing its design and several key features.
Display and Performance Details (Expected)
Leaks suggest that the POCO M8 5G may share its core hardware with the Redmi Note 15 5G. If accurate, the device could feature a 6.77-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate support and high brightness levels for better outdoor visibility. The screen is also expected to include Corning glass protection.
Powering the device could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, making it suitable for smooth multitasking and everyday performance.
For comparison, the Redmi Note 15 5G—currently available in select global markets—offers a 108MP rear camera, a 20MP front-facing camera, and a 5,520mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging and 18W reverse charging. POCO may tweak some of these specifications to better position the M8 5G in its lineup.

POCO M8 5G Price in India: What to Expect
POCO has not yet revealed the official pricing for the POCO M8 5G in India. However, the Redmi Note 15 5G starts at around Rs. 30,000 in international markets, while the POCO M7 5G launched in India at Rs. 9,999 earlier this year. Based on this, the POCO M8 5G is expected to fall into the budget to mid-range smartphone segment.

The POCO M8 5G will launch in India on January 8 at 12:00 pm IST. POCO has also confirmed that the smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively via Flipkart. A dedicated product page is already live on the platform, offering a preview of the device and confirming some of its core specifications ahead of the official reveal.
